Little Ghosts Press will be open for novella submissions from Oct. 31- Dec. 31st. Please submit with: your name or pseudonym a short (50-100 word) author bio a synopsis of the piece for submission, up to 1k words. Tell us about the characters, the setting, the plot and tone of the novella. We are looking for horror fiction at a finished length of 17-40k words. Priority will be given to LGBTQA+ stories and BIPOC authors. Little Ghosts Books will only be accepting TWO novellas for this call. A pass on your pitch is not reflective of the quality of the work, but rather the limitations of our submission call. A chapter sample will be requested by January 15th if we are interested in your pitch! All acceptances and passes will be sent by Feb. 1st. About Little Ghosts Press: Little Ghosts Books was established in 2022 with the vision of showcasing new and indie horror that lacked a platform in major bookstores. Little Ghosts hosts community events, book clubs, author Work in Progress Nights, and more. In a move to give back to the community that enthusiastically came out for Little Ghosts, we began in 2023 by publishing anthologies- offering pro rates for short stories to authors both established and brand new. To date we have published 4 novellas & 3 anthologies- plus a flip book in collaboration with Ghoulish Books. Contracts with Little Ghosts Books are non-exclusive- authors retain all rights to work and are free to re-sell stories. We work with authors to release a piece that both reflects their vision and the Little Ghosts aesthetic. Novella contracts come with a signing bonus (not to be deducted from royalties), and royalties are set at 40% to the author. No advertising, printing, or any other costs are deductible from the royalty sum. Little Ghosts does not use or condone the use of AI. Any submissions containing AI generated material will be rejected. No covers, assets, merch, or any other piece of Little Ghosts ephemera is or will ever be AI generated.

A lack in brashish sensory had once resolved a former flaw among attempts to be rid of this / Sudden unsettling that filters all experience I've gained as ever / And then been lucid dreaming I sleep of no reason won't wake when I can / Anxious and add tickling ideas of never seeing again granted / I would keep your distance if I'm at a loss as well as you / Yes we've entered occlusion return is no option now / That I think I've bottomed out confusing open ground / With room to spare and continue unfamiliarized / By every set of eyes that pry a fleeting glimpse of mine / I look to confirm terrain but avoid the rest in due to / Everlasting shame on you and on me of course / Am I wrong to think we have achieved a max capable / Of these excuses they're useless so why have one for every occasion / None is enough this certain entitlement to progress is killing us off / So fuck societal construct evoking the notion we grow when we talk / Or we don't when we're not
