there are TONS of folks in science that talk about ai as a positive resource - and i believe them - but venture capitalists & techbros are trying their best to force casual users to validate their snake oil: they might only lose money, but it's destroying quality of life for many of us.

it breaks my heart that so many of us use this junk. i understand the attraction to turn a cheesy meme into easy graphics but billionaires are targeting our neighborhoods to build their Giant Resource Killer - using it is akin to voting against our needs.

Thank you for this. I keep having these random "oh, but AI might be useful for this particular small task..." thoughts but I have to stop myself. This is a good reminder of the WHY.
