I didn't get that impression, but it may be based on your delivery style. Which tends to be rather dry. It's a great way to convey information, but because of the lack of emoting tends to let people over read it

The first chapter was a great short story. it's a bunch of "I think this is really cool" ideas strung together to try to make a story. It kinda works, but only kinda. I think his hard libertarian brain struggled to try to justify the world he had built.
