It's fun and useful! I made an interactive hypnosis thing a while ago, and I want to remake it some time... It was fun and simple and a very easy "in" to the idea of hypnosis, especially since it doesn't initially frame it as hypnosis and gets past preconceived notions that might confuse things.

Wait, for anyone confused: Spirals aren't inherently hypnotic but can become hypnotic if you associate them with trance, because they're a pattern to focus on, especially more complicated ones. I use hypnosis for fun and to relax. It's the same phenomenon as meditation, just framed differently

Writing weird smut is a grand tradition that I'm sure goes back about as far as writing.

...Oops, I almost forgot - I commented on the story, and got this as a response:
"[SPOILER] would probably give you a new and exciting spine, so make of that what you will."
What I make of that is that I would die first in basically any horror movie, because I'd go "sign me up!" (Chronic pain sucks)

Oh, and if you're thinking "But Dizzy, these tags are usually used on porn!" A lot of those are there on technicality and seem more like warnings than things you'd come to the story for. These tags are the major offenders, I'd say.

(Also, despite being on AO3, it's an original work, not fanfic.)

It's also sex-horror, but despite the author's note at the beginning, it doesn't seem to be written to arouse... Sex occurs, but entirely off-screen.

So, if you're in the mood to be disturbed, it's a great read. It's not finished yet, and some of my friends and I are eagerly awaiting Ch. 9

It's primarily body horror, centered around being used as hosts for mysterious parasites, and the first few chapters especially made our stomach feel squirmy in sympathy. The situation the characters find themselves in is horrible beyond that, though, into medical/industrial themes. (cont.)

this is mostly gonna be jokes, or discussing the non-erotic parts of things like The Hosts... Eugh, the body horror of that is delightfully upsetting, the setting and plot have me asking so many questions, but it's absolutely not for kids. Porn with plot is so fun and yet it's so hard to talk about

also this is what got me to finally make an after-dark, since replying on my main would put it in front of my uncle. that's why this is the first post on this account.

this post made me think of The Hosts, although i'm not sure it's quite what you're talking about. still, it's delightfully unsettling and made our stomach feel squirmy in sympathy, and ve've been waiting eagerly for chapter 10 after the latest developments...
