Part of our job is training future scientists and last week we had the opportunity to talk to local students about research and its importance. We hope to see these future medical professionals in a lab soon!

One of the many things we know -- we work with some amazing researchers! And yesterday, at the UMKC School of Medicine, we ran across a display of several of those researchers name - recognizing their excellence. So glad we have these researchers as members & UMKC SOM as a partner!

Congrats to our TL1 postdoc scholar, Brittany Martinez, Ph.D., on receiving the Meadowlark Leadership Award at Innovation Festival 2025! In her time in our TL1 program, we've seen many great things from her and look forward to seeing everything she accomplishes in her career!

Along with the KU Cancer Center, we hosted the first Midwest Research Skills Development Workshop earlier this month. It was an amazing opportunity for early career researchers to develop skills and learn from experts. Read more - frontiersctsi.org/news-events/...

Yesterday, our scholars finished their final course of the year on leadership training. As we continue to train the next generation of researchers, we know how important leadership is and we can't wait to see what lies ahead for this group of scholars.
