Science communicator! Storyteller, #sciart-ist, dancer, convener of scientists and creative professionals for better #scicomm. Currently, helping you learn the science of science communication at scicommlexicon.com - in English and #ASL! (She/Her.)
I worked with @tysonmedstudios.bsky.social to create this sketchy comic about Paul Nurse’s groundbreaking work on genes that control the cell cycle! Worked on this as a “bonus” to a job interview assignment. If you love it let us know. 🥰 #scicomm @nobelprize.bsky.social

Rebecca Clement, PhD, is an entomologist who has worked as a scientist at the USDA in Fort Collins, Colorado. She is the latest #fedscientist featured #SilencedScienceStories! Loved laying this out with #sciart by Laura Fitzgibbons silencedsciencestories.com/f/dr-rebecca...

Hey! I’m a science communicator at NIH collecting stories of scientists affected by budget cuts and mass firings, to be communicated in science artist illustrated portraits. Would you be willing to share? www.linkedin.com/posts/fromth...

Would love to help tell the stories of those fired and others affected. Collecting stories for illustrated scientist spotlights at bit.ly/faces_of_science

@sabs.bsky.social hi! I see you’ve been interviewing dismissed Feds and wondering if you’d share this with them? It’s for a series of illustrated portraits to showcase their work.

Cool paper that I've helped to write a comment on for the journal and a blog post coming soon at NIH I Am Intramural blog! #genetics. Also worked with Cassandra Tyson #sciart to create this overview graphic!

Y’all… you can’t talk about prioritizing art in science and then use an ai-generated image. This kills me.

Such a fantastic book! I love science comics. #sciart

What do you do when nobody really cares to find out what’s true? And when science is too caught up in the folly of absolute logic and reason to realistically make a difference? (Because a fact never beats a feeling… that via @lizneeley.bsky.social)

Would love to connect with #deaf scientists, scholars, artists, science storytellers! I recently started a blog series on science communication with style at scicommlexicon.com - reach out if you’d ever let to chat or be featured there! I want to highlight anyone combing science and visual stories!
November 23, 2024 at 3:36 AM
As a proponent of #sciart, something I think all of us visual-minded scicommers should take note of is how the Deaf community has been using visuals all long to explain complex topics and interpret the world around them! We can learn a lot from Deaf scientists in how to explain science visually!

New blog post! Don't AI my #SciArt. Read my take on the issues with using AI-generated content to communicate science, especially when it comes to visuals and art!

Hello bluesky! Maybe I’ll get active again on this platform… 4 #scicomm. I’ll be making posts on the intersection of science, art and scicomm!

A little illustration I did after a recent science talk on mitochondria and their role in brain health!
