Ah, ok, I see how it's supposed to be now! The seam on mine is definitely just gone. Since it's not an issue of him being an oddball/missing parts I think I'll keep him and make him a new nose.

I got mine today and he's pretty cute but...can I ask why the raccoons were changed to not have noses? Kind of disappointed the muzzle color changed from all of the pictures.
