Crochet designer based in Suffolk (UK). Figuring out how to live with disabilities. House human to a very demanding cat (Purl)
A few days and a lot of slow stitching later… the pumpkins are finished.
Started as a little creative rest when things didn’t go to plan — now it’s a cosy reminder that making simply for the love of crafting is its own kind of magic. Still needs framing, but I love how it turned out 🍂

I wasn’t sure about adding a Magic Ring tutorial — there are so many already!
But after chatting with six people this week (including one at the doctor’s 😅), it felt like a sign from the stitching gods.

Full crochet tutorial is on the website now — ad-free, easy to follow with step by step photos 🧶

The past few days have not gone to plan. Pain/headaches = website/crochet having to take a back seat.

Thankfully, I’ve built a stash of crafty things and my embroidery hoop has come to the rescue.

No deadlines, no pressure — just making for the love of crafting and enjoying one stitch at a time.

Spent the day with the Up, Up and Away Snowman — updating listings & wrapping up the festive collection

Penguin, Snowman, polar bear (modified Teddy) & Ziggy Hot air balloons are all live and ready for the early Christmas makers. Time for some non-Christmas crochet to unwind. ☕🧶

No.1 tip for anyone wanting to become a crochet designer 🧶 - don’t make things that move unless you want to triple the time it takes to take photos

Christmas cake baking, penguins hatching! 🎄🐧

After 10 years of crochet I have finally learned - it is never too early to start on the Christmas makes.

The Up, Up and Away Penguin pattern is live — ready to add a bit of festive cheer to your hook this weekend 🧶

Starting to realise why getting pictures for my crochet patterns takes so long. For each pattern pic I have to take one of the cat. My light box may have become a new favourite spot 🙄 happy #caturday

Today’s productivity report:
Cat supervision ✅
Actual work done ❌
Apparently, my journal is the only spot worth sitting in and editing crochet patterns can wait. #WorkFromHome #CrochetLife #CatsOfBluesky

Such a good crochet spot my assistant has decided to take a break from chasing daddy long legs to join me

There are definitely worse places to work 😁
Taking a break from pattern listings to play with some new With Love Bear accessory ideas and soak up the last of the sunshine before the storms roll in.

A basket of yarn and a bit of blue sky — can’t ask for much more. 🧶

Today’s job was updating the With Love Bear web page — and it hit me that I’ve never properly introduced her!
She’s one of those comforting little projects that always makes me smile. Simple stitches, soft colours, and a whole lot of personality #crochet 🧶

The Up, Up and Away Bear has had a little refresh — new photos, a customisation guide + a festive polar bear twist 😊.

I have always been a sucker for a teddy bear and it’s been really lovely spending time with this one again.

Polar bear or classic bear? 🧶
It’s amazing how a few tiny changes can give a pattern a whole new personality.

Just spotted that this weeks #crochetaway theme is #orange 🧡 I have fallen a bit in love with orange over the past year and it seems to have snuck in all over the house. These little no sew pumpkins are still one of my favourite quick makes — the pop of colour brings some brightness to grey uk days

Editing pattern pages and sipping tea while this little bear keeps me company.
It’s the calm part of the process before release day — tidy notes, yarn everywhere, and quiet focus.

It is finally feeling cool enough to step outside the house. I am not suited to uk heatwaves. On the plus side I think I have found my perfect summer evening crochet spot 🧶

Hello! I am finally getting back into the crochet pattern writing/publishing flow. For all of you who like to put a human to the brand I am Kelly. I am a disabled maker based in the South East of England. I am powered by tea, ruled by the cat, and amigurumi never fails to make me smile 🧶.

Today’s plan - catch up with tech editing course notes.
What happened - fell down a ‘can i make charts’ rabbit hole and accidentally designed a c2c gift bag 🧶
I guess it was sort of productive.

Planning to go on holiday as a crafter is 10% deciding what to pack to wear and 90% deciding what projects to take and how many hooks you can get away with packing just in case you happen to stumble upon a perfect yarn out there and want to play 🧶

The updated version of Mummy Duck is now live on Etsy and Ravelry (and on her way to Love Crafts). I have loved getting to work on her again, she is one of my favourite Spring/Easter #crochet projects. Patterns now include yarn information for Paintbox Cotton DK & photo guides for special stitches 🧶

Just attempted to type ‘cool facts about ducks’ into google to try and get some copy inspiration. Caught a typo 1 second before hitting enter. Having an I instead of a u could have really messed up my search history 😂

Think this will do for my summer office 😁 The move may have aged me by several years but it was 100% worth it to be able to make a cup of tea and take it into the garden to enjoy. After 9 years of not being able access the outside world without a lot of help I will never take this for granted.

Trying very hard to get on with some crochet design work, but Purl is being super clingy, and has decided that I am a cat bed and should not even consider anything else. I don’t think I am going to win this argument

Have the house to myself so enjoying a study day in the conservatory. Todays focus is all things crochet charts and how to make sure they are correct. I am in my happy place 🤓
