I remember it well. I was in 4th grade. We were called to the gym. Seats were lined up. Walter Cronkite was on a B&W TV set on a table up on the stage. Kids were chattering. The principal called our attention saying President Kennedy was shot and killed. Aloud hush fell over us. Then sobs & cries.

3rd Grade. Mother Superior first came on the loudspeaker and said we should pray for a special intention. about 20-30 minutes later she announced JFK had been assassinated in Dallas. I got home and my Mother and a neighbor were watching T.V. crying. They cried all the weekend up to the burial. Sad.

Not seeing many "where I was when Kennedy was shot" posts today. Sign of my age, I guess; after all, it was 62 years ago.
I remember it vividly. I was 8 and in my 2nd grade classroom. The teacher left the room and some kid made a shameful racist remark.
