i love science i love it so much. i could talk about sargassum seaweed all day and get weepy eyed with how much estuaries mean to me. art needed the same love and money and then later same alarm it deserved when it became trivialized and then devalued.

so i spent time after school every week my senior year asking other high schools and people in the county to donate books, shelves, cataloging systems, etc etc. it was me and four other kids who built our campus the library ourselves. no teachers no district help NOTHING. because i wanted to read!!

i empathize with their frustrations because they have been my frustrations for a very long time. my marine biology high school didn’t even have a LIBRARY and when i asked if we could have one, they told me if i could build it myself then sure.

i understand their plight. i pointed out to one that i actually started in STEM, in a highly niche marine biology high school program literally partnered with a huge oceanographic institute that i had to apply to get into. i got more funding there then i ever did in a COLLEGE for my art degree.

“some of yall give kudos out like candy” uh it’s a fanfiction on a site with no algorithm, u should be exhaling kudos! kudos aren’t a payment system! most fanfic is bad because KIDS are writing it and that RULES! kudos is “i’m so glad you took time to develop this hobby even if u don’t get paid to!”

i just moved into a new building where i’m some few floors up—i have really loved using like a beach wagon for groceries and things like this! like one of these:

being able to just catch a level 60 Dragonite walking around in the wild was entirely enticing to just add to the team and switch someone else out. But I decided to instead catch the lowest level dratini in the area and grind him up. Had much more fun that way, imo!

i just beat the violet main storyline for the first time ever (i LOVED it btw.) and there are great friendship mechanics in the game. Seeing my Donphan I’d had since like, hour two of the game add “The Reliable Friend” after his name (Baby) took me by such surprise, and made me SO happy.

having to literally grind with every single individual pokemon helped make the fantasy of the game feel so real even when it was in huge pixel blocks and one color at a time. (exp share also only benefitted the pokemon wearing it and no one else!!) fantasy is found and made in small spaces.

i do not ever try to be a purist about anything but especially pokemon. lots of qol updates have made the games better. but it is my personal opinion that it has been made a bit harder, on gameplay and/or players end, to connect with a solid team of 6.

yea! the tricky part is any new sewing will be seen from the outside of the shirt too lol a lot of patch liners are sewed into the patch sewing application itself so it can hide the liner sewing underneath. ah but i will figure it out!

yeah i’m thinking a thin rash guard under would be best. a lot of clothes that have patches like these will line with with a soft, thin, flexible fabric, like just the patch part. so i was a bit surprised it was $100 and it didn’t come with that liner!

i double checked the web site and you can see the white peaking out there, so that’s on me! but also $100 for a t-shirt is a lot of money, and it’s silly to pretend it isn’t. for that money, i also think it is fair and fine to expect high quality. it’s a luxury good at $100 for a t-shirt.

also this is me being a dork from the south but, this camo is sublimation printed (all camo is) on a white cotton shirt. camo is typically printed on a green or brown cotton shirt so that the inside of the shirt is still a matching color (other reasons too ofc.)

ah it is! granted, i am VERY sensitive to fabric textures. And i realized I never posted what my concerns are lol, but yeah basically the patches are not lined on in the inside, so the sewing and rough textures are just on you all the time :(

—the patches are very cool and fun! but they aren’t lined on the inside which means the sewing application for them to stay on the shirt is incredibly itchy and right on your skin, also at a very uncomfortable spot, right above and on your elbow.
