which ironically will also not make power cheaper for NZ. Why the government won't consider investing heavily in wind, solar and battery storage is a mystery. Or intervening in the market to encourage more generation.

But also this is all so stupid. A labour/Greens government will reverse these changes - in 3 or 6 years we don't know. But lots of the investments we need to make as a country to decarbonise (or adapt) are long lead time. They need 10, 15, 20 years. We can't afford to flip flop back and forth.,

It is completely understandable that the government no longer wants advice from the Climate Change commission on their Emissions Reduction Plans. obviously the Commission will repeatedly tell them their policies are failing to achieve emissions reductions.
