@frodosalias.bsky.social
Seemingly trapped in Central Ohio. History, fantasy, and empathetic joy are my jam. Passionate about education, travel, and live music. I’m a hugger - Imma make it weird.
Had a professor tell me in a graded paper that I might consider using “student experiencing homelessness” rather than “homeless student”. The assignment had a very tight word limit & my topic was about at-risk students. Virtue signaling would have put me well over the word limit. For whose benefit?

To me, this is more like: If you’ve tied your fortunes (caught the tail) of someone brutish and abusive (a lion) you’re less likely to get help when you need it than if you’ve caught the tail of someone quiet and cautious.

That’s cute. Now put it into context with the October numbers that were also delayed.

Try this:

The U.S. economy lost 41,000 jobs over October and November

Or, if you must be positive about it to please Dear Leader:

U.S. Recovers 64,000 jobs in November after losing 105,000 jobs in October

Children killed by vaccine preventable illnesses or gun violence should be reported as post-birth abortions.

Maybe then Conservatives would be willing to do something about it.

From what I can tell, every individual featured in this story is an asshole. And every one of them took advantage of or sold out another asshole for their own benefit. And so, paying to gain access to the full story, would be felching. Did I use that new vocabulary word correctly?

I expect a new book by the end of the first quarter of 2026. Might I suggest the following working title: I bitched about the wrong old man.

Did Jack tell his kids to pursue vocational training? Or is he only saying that to kids of poors.

“Execute extrajudicial killings” = “commit murder”. Say it that way. It’s fewer characters to post, fewer syllables from your mouth, and easier for regular people to understand. Don’t give them cover by using SAT words. It makes it sound like what they’re doing might be legal. It’s not. It’s murder.

Yup. And he needs to go further and be more explicit. It’s not just that they want Republicans to negotiate in good faith, it’s that Republicans cannot be TRUSTED to negotiate in good faith. It’s that they have no principles beyond service to Trump.

Include a kill-switch in your bill that reverses the redistricting if SCOTUS makes gerrymandering illegal across the country. Fight fire with fire while proving that Dems still care about fairness.
October 31, 2025 at 2:40 PM
Jesus… It’s not hard! Pass the democratic gerrymander with a kill switch that negates it once SCOTUS rules gerrymandering unconstitutional. Put the onus on SCOTUS to stop it, demonstrate a commitment to fairness absent in GOP states, and fight fire with fire.

Tim Ryan figured that out in Ohio against an absolutely beatable JD Vance. Not only did he not convince the fence-sitters, but he convinced reliable Dems that there was no difference and no point. Dems need to go hard against the policies of crony capitalism and American fascism. Be loud. Be tough.

C’mon, Joe. Do better than that. Run on turning that ballroom into an emergency homeless shelter, or a part-time tutoring center for disadvantaged youth. Turn Trump’s grotesque self-serving impulses into a force for good.

Can we maybe stop using “extrajudicial” to describe this.

If it’s “extrajudicial” it’s not legally authorized. If it’s not legally authorized, it’s not legal. If it’s not legal, it’s illegal.

These are illegal killings. Illegal killings are murder.

Call them murders.

The Ohio Lottery was billed to the public as a way to provide more funding for better schools. In the hands of Republican controlled government over the last two decades, the lottery has funded status quo education and bigger tax breaks for millionaires, billionaires and big business.

Trump thinks he can just have it because the tubers growing out the side of his head hear Nobel Peace “Price” and he thinks he should just be able to buy it.
