It seems particularly absurd because they already did it. I mean, yes, 1967, but also Casino Royale (2006) literally opens with Daniel Craig's James Bond becoming a 00-agent for the first time. It can't be reconciled with the continuity of previous movies, and absolutely no one cared.

If tomorrow, Gavin Newsome declared that he was going to direct more California money to building new ICE facilities and recruiting new ICE agents, would you agree that this was just what he had to do to reach out to moderates, and insist that Democrats vote for him anyway?

Would you say, "Opposing ICE is just purity politics, and we need to reach out to the other side and put in more laws that restrict the movement of immigrants and ban them from sports and jobs, and it's not really that big a deal?"

Perusing your timeline, you seem to be fairly anti-ICE. If someone came to you and said "We need Democrats to vote to dramatically expand ICE operations so that ICE agents will vote Democratic, and if you don't do that you're just handing the White House to ICE", would you say, "yeah, makes sense?"

Perusing your timeline, you seem to be fairly anti-ICE. If someone came to you and said "We need Democrats to vote to dramatically expand ICE operations so that ICE agents will vote Democratic, and if you don't do that you're just handing the White House to ICE", would you say, "yeah, makes sense?"
Riley is the only one I could think of, too. He's an asshole in Naked Time but only while he's infected, and in Conscience of the King he's sympathetic. (And in Naked Time he says he's descended from Irish kings, so definitely Irish.)

The funniest thing about that chart being there is that the writer spends a paragraph arguing that most men are heavily right-wing and then immediately says that Star Trek should be counter-culture and society is heavily left-wing. It's the classic fascist paradox with absolutely no self-awareness.
