This moment in American history is unprecedented in the degree to which wealthy businessmen have succeeded in weakening the federal government. That storyline seems even more significant to me than the executive power grab and the invasions of privacy, which are means to that end.

Stop directing all of your ire at Musk. Trump and Congressional Republicans are responsible for illegally destroying the federal institutions that all Americans depend on. Trump gave the orders and Congress is choosing not to exercise its powers to stop it. They own this.

I've lived in both Kansas City and Philadelphia, but I live in neither city now. So, my Super Bowl loyalties are divided, but I feel more of a visceral pull towards rooting for the Eagles. Maybe it's just because the Chiefs have been on top for too long?

So what do people think RFK Jr's position and influence will be? It's not clear whether even a Republican senate would approve him as a cabinet appointee, or whether Trump cares enough to give him real influence rather than some nominal post.
