Gay foxes in the desert
Flowers and views at the Spring Mountains in Nevada, just outside Las Vegas. The Spring Mountains are what's called a "sky island", an isolated mountain range where the highland environment is radically different from the lowland (in this case, the Mojave Desert). More details in the alt text :)

Some more photos. These are from Death Valley, CA earlier this year. First photo is the Pinwheel Galaxy (M101) on the right and a smaller galaxy to the left. Second photo is of the Orion Nebula (M42). These were both taken with a new (used) lens I had just bought, I really liked how they turned out!
