I’m not sure anyone will abstract. Though I also have an idea that Kinger is a failed abstraction. Maybe his computer programming knowledge had him create a defense of some sort? But this might explain why he gains his sanity in the dark. Similar to abstractions being calm in darkness

My assumption and theory that I’ve had for awhile is that Caine causes the abstractions for some purpose. Kinger knows this to a degree and so Caine changes Kinger’s mind so that he is insane. Kinger is remembering abstractions and Caine seems VERY worried about that.
