Felix jerked her hand away. "Here it is. Come on." Dimitri halted instead. Jaw clenched, Felix turned to face her. "What now?" she asked, trying to keep exasperation from seeping into her voice. It had taken at least twenty minutes alone to persuade Dimitri into coming to the mall today instead of letting her put it off. Dimitri glanced at the sign over the doorway. “Isn’t this place rather…expensive?” She stood with her shoulders hunched; her arms crossed over her chest, each hand gripping the opposite elbow. As if she could make herself small enough to disappear. “It’s more expensive than what you’ll find at A-Mart, but the quality is worth the price. You can afford it now that you’ve gotten your inheritance away from your uncle.” Felix glanced pointedly at Dimitri’s chest. She wore a thick turtleneck and what Felix suspected was a sports bra. Nevertheless, her bosom looked rounded and full. “And you need something well-made. That’s what we decided.” Dimitri’s head lowered. “What you decided,” she muttered. Felix stamped her foot. “You promised to give it a try! Would you stop be so stubborn?" A trio of teenage boys walking the other way glanced at them. Dimitri’s grip on her elbows tightened but she turned and walked passed Felix into the store.

Her nostrils flared. “I smell blood.” She leaned back, her gaze flitting across Felix’s face and shoulders. “Were you injured?” A screenshot from a word document. It reads: “No, it’s nearly time for my menses. If you can smell it, it must have begun.” Pain spanned her belly as her muscles cramped. Dimitri’s eye went wide. “Ah! It is that time, isn’t it?” She smiled and the look in her eye turned dark and hungry. Dimitri leaned down until their foreheads were nearly touching. “Would you like some help with that?” A blush rose in Felix’s cheeks. Her heart skipped in her chest. Dimitri must have heard it because her smile widened.  Felix narrowed her eyes. “Did you drink while I was gone?”
