Also the tiles that actually fell from the Kingdome ceiling in 1994--which, thankfully, didn't hurt anyone. The Mariners were spared from playing out the remaining schedule on the road, or moving their home games out of town, only because of the strike that wiped out the rest of the season.

So, why? At that level, they’re not spending any more than their cut of the basic revenue-sharing pool. What is the justification for cutting back so much? They can’t even match the Royals’ budget, now?

Pooh Bear also got stuck in the doorway at Rabbit’s house that one time.

Just a thought, but Winnie the Pooh is in the public domain, now

The company won't even open a store where I live, out among the riff-raff. Apparently they have one store east of 205--in Happy Valley. I ain't got time for that shit, anyway.

If John's smart, he'd join your side

If they can find a platoon partner who hits LHP, Larnach may still be an asset, and could be a more appealing trade chip if they're sellers next summer
November 20, 2025 at 12:21 AM
They might have Marte instead of Crawford, and Lopez and Peralta in place of Castillo and Woo/Miller (although Lopez was hurt from June-Sept this year), assuming contract extensions for all 3 and don’t trade them in 2020 rebuild project

Domino’s was acceptable cheap pizza, and Pizza Hut used to be pretty good, but both had to go mess with their recipes and now they’re terrible

They have $36.9M set for Lopez and Buxton, $10M going to Houston to pay Correa, and the rest is projected arbitration figures and salary for pre-arb players on the 40-man roster. If they have a $135M budget, they could spend around $40M to add players, but will they? We’ll see.

I expect that they won't have the money for him to stay, so I hope that he does go to some nice hitter's park, ideally with a contending team not in New York.

The show premiered in April 1990, so it was a late-season replacement series.
November 19, 2025 at 2:16 AM
Wow, when did that happen?!?

The FLRT can looks like an old Simpsons parody of a drink marketed to women.

Thanks, I will look for that. I've been wanting to get into more of her records, but so far I've just listened to the one with the cover photo of her looking like Mina Kimes holding a big fish.

One idea, if they don't want to pay O'Hearn or Arraez: get another corner OF, maybe two, and tell Larnach or Wallner to get busy learning 1B. But Kody Clemens probably has a hard regression coming. He should not be their primary option at any position, unless they really want to tank the season.

I like this one a lot. Looking forward to the ‘79 live YMO coming out soon.

They wanted Liz Cheney’s endorsement because they hoped she would signal to “reasonable Republicans“ that it was OK to vote for Harris. But what would they achieve if MTG actually switched parties, and most certainly would lose the next election in her district? Stupid on every level.

You got the Flying Latkes in there, that’s what‘s important
November 17, 2025 at 8:30 PM
Well, SS is the most glaring problem, but I suppose that they’ll just see how it goes with Lee and a UT for awhile. They’ll need a Buxton backup, unless Martin is their answer, and probably could use another corner OF. But 1B is a bigger hole. They can fill out the pen cheaply.

Are you betting on Clemens to be worth 1.4 fWAR or better next year?
November 17, 2025 at 7:51 PM
Even if you could accept her joining the party, she’d lose the very next election in her district. He’d sell out just to have one more D in the House, who may not vote for any key points in their agenda, for one or two years. So dumb.

Jack‘s the follower, worried about Shannon after his buddy killed the watchman for his pocket money & rings. Shannon‘s just a bad dude. “Might as well’ve been me” = even if Shannon doesn’t turn on Jack, he may as well have brought on a death sentence on them both, cos the law is coming for them now.
November 17, 2025 at 7:32 PM
Note that the lyric first says, figuratively, “cut down a man in cold blood, Shannon…” Later, Jack must “cut his buddy down,” kill him; not only has Shannon brought the heat on, but he wants to detour to Tulsa to kill another man. Jack realizes what he must do to protect himself & save another life.

He might have been more amused if you had it done around your navel, but I think he would've liked seeing his facial hair tattooed on a young woman's arm
