For funsies I checked to see how much trying to fix my arm has cost my insurance over the last two years. We're onto surgery five next month and I'm no better than when I started. Wonder if I'll have the privilege of cracking 200k next year.
A cropped screenshot of my insurance summary from the online portal. The claims totals row says amount charged is $116,277.03. Insurance covered $113,040.89 and I paid $3,236.14 out of pocket.

I made a personal sized chocolate cake to make me feel better and wow it kind of did
On a black plate is a small, circular single layer chocolate cake covered in cream cheese frosting. It tastes fudgy and delicious. I am still sad and also fighting a cold/flu thing but what a marvel to live in a time where I can make and eat my very own sweet treats.

Last night’s campfire didn’t fix me but it was a treat.
A New England campfire as the sun sets. Some folks are roasting marshmallows with collected twigs and others are drinking around the campfire and relaxing. Seating is a mix of folding chairs and stumps. Rustic and cozy.

Ate at a classic Pizza Hut today. Straight from my idealized childhood where my family members weren’t Little Caesar’s loyalists
A selfie taken in a classic Pizza Hut. The booths are a dated (yet new in quality) red color with red and white gingham table sloths. The lights above the table have the vintage Pizza Hut stained glass lampshades. The walls are a nice brick with various retro Book It program ad posters and photos of original Pizza Hut locations. Unpictured but they had a functional and pretty alright salad bar! I have medium length brown hair that is starting to catch a wave. I’m wearing gray classes and a black Brewster’s shirt (Animal Crossing). This was post salad and cheesy garlic breadsticks but before stuffed crust pizza.

Hotel lighting is always an ally
Me with a lightly trimmed beard and medium length brown hair stands smiling in a hotel mirror in a grey polo with Michigan and an M embroidered in dark blue on the top right. The closet door behind me is open revealing a pillow and some of our dress shirts suit jackets hung up. An open styling clay container is open on the counter next to a hair brush. The mirror is entirely framed in a ring light. If I had aesthetic sense I would’ve cleaned all of that up before taking the photo but I was enraptured in the lighting. Gay moth to the flame and all of that.

My arm has recovered enough from my latest surgery that I could sew a thing!
A handmade toiletry bag sits on a couch. Its outer fabric is composed of upward facing white arrows that form vertical groupings with blank, black lines between each column and between each individual arrow. The zipper tape is black with shiny silver teeth and the bag has a black handle from end to end across the top. I got the pattern from a YouTube video and am happy to link it if you’re interested! This is my second time making it and it’s very beginner friendly.

Tagged along on my husband’s work trip and spending the morning catching up on my crochet. So much bliss

Is it giving Creation of Adam
My cat and I are lying on our new carpet while I point to his tail. I’m on my back reaching outward toward him somewhat mirroring the Creation of Adam from the Sistine Chapel ceiling. My local Chinese place has a really nice drawing of Trunks on display and I love it
A beautiful illustration of the child Trunks from the Dragon Ball Z series. There’s a bit of glare from the overhead lighting but you can tell it’s colored nicely and has crisp line work and lighting/shadow. It gives off the impression that a grandchild drew it and the owners (likely the grandparents) were really proud to display it.

I did not rinse my hair in sink! I asked my barber

Creepshot friend caught me feeling the whimsy of D&D last night
Me, with my well-behaving wavy hair swooped to the side, sits at my dining room table with my right arm bent inward and my chin resting on my knuckles. Did a little Goldeen painting on cardstock that some fabric came with. Great watercolor notebook cover when I get that bookbinding shiz out. :)
On a piece of surprisingly thick cardstock is an acrylic painting of the pokemon goldeen seen from overhead. She is a white fish with light red fins and some brighter red accents. She has a golden brown horn and bright red lips like she’s a woman in finance. The background is a solid lighter blue water color with a green horizontal line near the top and one near the bottom. Behind goldeen are two dark blue triangles with long sides facing to give a sense of geometry and style, girlie. There is a slight rip on a layer of the cardstock from washi tape that was either applied or peeled too forcefully but it’s very surface level and doesn’t affect the viability of the cardstock. I think it’s cute! The texture of the cardstock was a little resistant to the paint but not bad. I need to find a clear coat to seal it.

I sewed my first fanny pack! It fits all of my things
Me with my back to the camera showing off my newly sewn over the shoulder fanny pack. It’s made from an orange IKEA fabric with various black, yellow, and white cats scattered about. The bag has a silver zipper with black tape and the shoulder strap is also black to contrast with the fabric. Not pictured is the front strap which is a cute little black buckle. If you zoom in you can see some slightly shoddy topstitching but that would be really ugly if you did that.

Ted the Cat did a great job as our DM yesterday (until rested on the play mat and became the final boss)

It can be either really. I’m super tall so I use the ottoman to raise my hoop to like chin level. Most of the ones I’ve seen are kind of short but honestly it also depends on your chair height. They’re not worth breaking the bank for ($50 absolute max) but I couldn’t do any fiber work without it.

Even a messed up arm cannot stop me from giving the token homosexual male peace sign when a camera comes out
Me, pale as all hell with medium length, side swept hair, clear glasses, and a thick beard and mustache head tilts toward the camera with a slight smile. I’m in my favorite green flannel and giving a peace sign to the camera. Had a cathartic (largely great) appointment with a new doctor and bought myself a 12” calzone style stuffed pizza to celebrate. Going to be a little pizza eating cutie for the next few days
The inside of a pizza box with 2/8 slices missing. The outside is a crispy, calzone textured stuffed pizza with Parmesan cheese dusted evenly across the top. Stringy cheese peaks out from between some of the slices. Not pictured is the cheesy garlic bread I demolished as well. It’s a margherita pizza.

My little buddy and I just started a cross stitch
Myself, with thick facial hair, “smizing”hazel eyes, and a black band t-shirt sit in front a chair with my orange and white cat Coconut resting in my lap. In front of us is a recently started cross stitch hoop and white Aida fabric using black thread. At the top of the hoop you can see the attachment pieces of a craft stand I use to minimize strain on my bad arm. The background shows a shoe bench with varying unopened mail and the black drawstring backpack I sewed myself last year. The walls of the hallway are a cheery yellow with two beautiful paintings my partner picked up on a work trip in Tel Aviv and then framed. Just seconds after this was taken Coconut remembered he was a cat and tried to attack my thread. I sadly had to remove him from my lap.
