Een van de laatste foto's van de Zeister tram. Bijzonder is dat het tramstel niet groen/wit is, dit komt omdat dit stel is overgenomen van Vlissingen-Middelburg na de oorlog. Er werd tot de opheffing op het stadstraject mee gereden. Overschilderen vond men al niet meer de moeite waard.

Funny enough, it is in Dutch ('tandenborstel') while in closely related German it is singular ('Zahnbürste'). In the Scandinavian languages it's also singular like in German and English. The Romance languages use plural (brosse à dents)

Was het niet zo dat de huidige Choorstraat dwars door het gesloopte deel van de Buurkerk loopt? En dat die route al voor de sloop werd gebruikt en mensen dus de ene kant de kerk in en aan de andere kant weer uitliepen?

Hoe zie je een 'linkse' coalitie zonder VVD voor je? Als de VVD niet meedoet zal alles rechts van de VVD dat ook niet doen. Heb je minstens 7 partijen nodig (D66, CDA, PVDA/GL, CU, PvdD, Denk, SP) voor een uiterst krappe 76 zetels. Kan me ook niet voorstellen dat het CDA daar instapt.

Ik denk dat de VVD anno 2025 oprecht een rechts beleid wil. Dat kon op inhoud met de PVV maar die partij kan niet besturen. JA21 kan dat mogelijk wel (maar we zullen zien). Een enigszins succesvol rechts kabinet is feest voor de VVD en een ramp voor de PVV.

Dat was het voor mij al toen Obama 'm kreeg voor hij ook maar iets gepresteerd had, puur op basis van z'n uitstraling als man van hoop en verbinding.

Worst example: to save nature a tunnel had to be built to cross the Rhine river (earlier plans included a bridge instead). In the near future, the A15 will be extended eastwards, again parallel to the railway. It will have to cross the river as well, but for the motorway a bridge will be built.

One of the reasons behind this nonsense is that local authorities fearing noise had to be 'bought off' by building this kind of additional infrastructure, even if it made little sense. The final building costs were about 4 times the calculation.

Here a low sound barrier prevents railway noise from reaching the noisy motorway, which has no sound barriers at all. At the left hand side there are only fields, at the right side a former waste dump which now hosts a solar farm.

Same in the Netherlands. The dedicated freight route from Rotterdam to Germany was built right next to the A15 motorway. The railway has way more sound barriers than the motorway (even at the motorway side), having been built later with stricter regulations.

In the case of Lille, none of the above situations is applicable. Maybe TGV station could be served by VAL metro, but that's not really 'well connected'. Also, other population centers in the Lille metro area are not really in the area of the rejected TGV station

TGV stations 'in the middle of nowhere' make sense if they serve a relatively sparsely populated area where most passengers will arrive by car. In metro areas, it makes sense if the TGV station is well connected to existing transit hubs (a little less convenient, a lot cheaper to build)

Göttingen is in Germany, not the Netherlands. And Utrecht has front door boarding for buses, but all door boarding for trams.
