Not sure if I agree? I think you can heave a healthy relationship to fitness goals and training—but the cultural emphasis is overwhelmingly skewed against it.

I mean, yeah. There’s a real homosocial/homoerotic dimension to all of it—just look at the guys posting selfies at 8% body fat and then flatly refusing to believe that many women simply don’t find that look attractive. It’s a lot of signaling for other men.

I work in data and despite my democratic values I am increasingly confident that it should be treated as an esoteric art only to be attempted by the numero-priesthood.
