Teaching people, particularly young people not to use it and leaving it at that is like telling them not to fuck instead of teaching them about communication, consent, boundaried and other safe sex practices.

The above is part of why it's so important to keep learning and teaching these skills. I'm not neccessarily even in favor of AI, particularly in its current form and problematic infringements on intellectual property... but LLMs aren't all that new and...

It gets words on a page within a general structure based on information and prompts I've provided. I then go on to heavily alter and restructure because I have skills to analyse, write and edit what I've been provided with.

Media literacy, information literacy, research skills, fact checking, bias checking, etc. are measures that we can teach and learn and they're always evolving. I personally don't use ai as an active research tool but use it to assist with writing when I'm experiencing executive disfunction.

AI had plenty of problems but a lot of them aren't unique and the biggest problem isn't neccessarily the qualify of information but its enviromental impacts. Throughout history there have been many ups and downs in the quality of information we have access to as a human race.
