New transmission lines are needed nationwide to meet growing energy demand and allow new power plants to come online. According to MISO, more than 1,100 projects are stalled across the Midwest, with Minnesota projects experiencing an average connection delay of over two years. (2/3)

The approval includes customer rate mitigations including a $50M customer rate credit, a $50M fund dedicated to new clean energy technologies, a $10M fund for low-income affordability through energy efficiency, and up to $3.5 million for unpaid bill forgiveness.
