It's actually interesting: Clair Obscur was influenced by Shadow Hearts, which is something the Clair Obscur devs have already mentioned in a Japanese interview. You see the Lost Odyssey connection because a lot of ex-Nautilus (dev team of Shadow Hearts) folks joined Feelplus before Lost Odyssey.

I was saying this the moment the DLC debacle happened: even if it's a good game (and IT IS, warts and all), it's not going to get a fair shake until it hits a deep discount and people pick it up a few years from now. It's the same fate as the first game and that's how you know it's a real follow-up.

It had a pretty good revival series on Netflix awhile back. I remember enjoying it.
