i know it's just advertisement but it still pisses me off when tech CEOs claim AGI will solve humanity's problems with its vast intelligence. for a lot of problems we already know the solutions, what prevents them being solved is not a lack of intelligence, but that the solutions are unprofitable

I just finished doing my taxes. How do I make sure this money is routed to the VA, and not SpaceX/Tesla/StarLink? Seriously, I pay a *lot* of taxes, and I'd like it all to pay for veteran's health care, instead of funding billionaire's BS...

"Canada would be a wonderful 51st state"
At the risk of arguing with idiots, Canada wouldn't just be one state, right? Alberta and Quebec would be different states, right? Does Felony President not realize that other countries have smaller geographic/governmental entities same as the US?

Watching Musk & Trump kill off things like *research funding*, the NIH, and the CFPB, I come to only one conclusion:

Welcome to the Chinese Century, courtesy of Billionaires, and the unhinged GOP.

DEI programs in big tech companies never served to enable the hiring of mediocre women, people of color, or LGBTQIA+ folks. They made it just slightly easier to hire *great* LGBTQIA+, women, and people of color. Dismantling them is a win for the mediocre white/Asian male and no one else.

Surviving measles *resets your immune system*! All the rest of the diseases you’ve built up immunity to? That immunity is gone. So enjoy getting sick over and over and over and over again. Get the vaccine. The cure is much better than the disease. RFK Jr. can eat a rotting pile of roadkill.

1st, it’s always been called that. If you’re firing 5% of your workforce as “poor performers” after you laid off 25% of the company in the previous 2 years, you’re a shit leader with shit recruiting. Zuck is a _terrible_ leader and CEO.

Meta rebranded performance-based layoffs as 'non-regrettable attrition'
The tech giant is cutting thousands of employees in a round of performance-based layoffs. Here's why that could cost Meta, say some experts.
