Humpback whale that was trapped on a salmon farm at the Isle of Skye is now free, but with an increase of these whales visiting Scotland, it's only a question of when not if this happens again.

The Soil Association and the RSPCA assured scheme are not fit for purpose, neither has an upper limit for mortality, a farmer could lose 99% of their fish and the remaining 1% would still get the "high welfare" rubber stamp.
Why?

Pearl Jellyfish wipe out 200,000 salmon, the industry blames rising sea temps. If that's the case isn't it time that the industry called it a day?
or do they have some clever tricks on how to reverse climate change?

Lots of papers today covering the report from Scottish parliament committee.
It's a shame organisations like the RSPCA & Soil Association can't pay attention to this report, they need to stop certifying farms with high mortality.

Salmon farming now banned in Washington after huge escape of salmon from farms in 2017.
Meanwhile in Scotland the largest escape in a decade is hidden from the public for 2 years…

Salmon farmers don’t have to report when farmed fish escape during transport!
Wild Atlantic salmon are an endangered species and escapes like this could finish them off.

Scottish salmon will never be anything other than diseased factory farmed fish who’ve come from appalling conditions.

Jelly fish are killing salmon in farms right now en masse in Ireland and Norway.
The sea's are warming and it's only a question of time before salmon farming just isn't feasible.

Thank you Lord Forsyth for highlighting the lengths the salmon farmers will go to, in an attempt to farm without regulation or oversight.

Astaxanthin is the chemical they put into the feed for farmed salmon, they vary the amount to match the colour requested by the retailer using a SalmoFan, like a paint colour picker.
Too much of the chemical can lead to blindness, but don't worry salmon is a miracle food!

Huge fines for breaching sea lice limits! No, not in Scotland, this is Norway.
Salmon farmers from Scandinavia don’t have to worry about regulations in Scotland.

"Even a company that has itself been in the spotlight for poor fish welfare, and suffered eye-watering mortalities on its farms, has now distanced itself from the [RSPCA] scheme.
This is yet another clear signal that the RSPCA Assured scheme is fundamentally not working."

A huge escape of farmed salmon in Ireland is going to push the endangered wild Atlantic Salmon closer to extinction.

The salmon farmers love to say that Scotland has some of the highest regulations in the world. Even if it was true, lucky for them no one enforces them.
