Happy 16th birthday, Angry Birds!

It’s crazy how much these games shaped mobile gaming.

Checked the latest SEGA & Rovio updates… and still nothing big.
No real progress, no major plans — just silence.

Fans are waiting, but Rovio feels stuck.
What should they focus on next?

I’ve been thinking about how Rovio used to take risks — every Angry Birds game felt unique.
Now it’s mostly events and silence.
Fans still care, but the creativity is gone.
Do you think Rovio can bounce back, or is it time for change?

Sometimes I feel like Rovio lost the spark it once had.
Back then every update felt creative — Space, Go, Epic… all unique.
Now it’s just safe events and nothing truly new.

Fans still remember the old magic.
What’s the one thing that could bring it back?

Surprise: Sega is struggling to justify the baffling decision to acquire Angry Bird developer Rovio for over $700M in 2023.

Props to them though for trying to get it to work instead of taking the L and closing the whole studio down (as Western game companies would have done)

There could be Angry Birds on Steam and consoles right now yet they chose to make the most Predatory and Evil Sonic game ever.

I still remember when Rovio felt alive — Epic, Go, Space… every game had its own style and passion.
Now it feels different. SEGA’s 2025 report even said Rovio’s performance was “weaker than expected,” and nothing really changes.

I’ve been thinking about Rovio a lot.
Back in 2012–2015 the Angry Birds games were full of creativity — Space, Go, Epic… all different and fun.
Now it just feels like that passion is gone.

Even SEGA’s 2025 report said Rovio’s results were “weaker than expected.”

When SEGA bought Rovio, fans hoped for change — maybe new games or remasters.
Two years later, nothing. No Epic, no Go, no creativity.
Rovio used to have heart — now it’s just business.
Will SEGA ever let them create freely again?

Rovio once led mobile gaming with heart and creativity.
Now under SEGA, it feels silent — layoffs, no vision, no passion.
Fans still remember what made Angry Birds special.
Can Rovio ever rise again?

Glad they’re listening — but Rovio should show the same care for their own games.
Angry Birds deserves better. #FreeRovioNow
Lukas Meixner (CM Lead for Sonic Rumble) speaks on the criticism the game is facing and says they are already working on some ideas to potentially implement.

In other good news, the Kernel Level anti-cheat is no longer present in the PC version, it now utilizes a less intrusive one.

Sega’s reports keep showing the same problem — Rovio underperforming.
No new direction, no creativity comeback. How long will they ignore it?

Epic Soundtrack Nostalgia
Did you know Angry Birds Epic had one of the best soundtracks Rovio ever made?
It felt like a real RPG — every island had its own vibe, and the music made battles so much better.

SEGA took Rovio for its mobile experience — but killed its creative freedom.
Before the buyout, Rovio made bold games like Epic and Go.
Now it’s just puzzle clones and silence.

This is really sad. SEGA keeps cutting people instead of fixing what’s wrong.
Dream Blast failed because fans wanted creativity — not another recycled puzzle game.

Weekly Recap – Free Rovio Now
Another week gone, and Angry Birds fans still care.
We talked about how SEGA bought Rovio for its mobile experience — but forgot the passion that made Angry Birds special.

Funny thing — even “removed” Angry Birds games like Classic, Go, and Epic still show ads.
That means Rovio still earns from them.
If they can run ads, they could update the games too — they just don’t want to. 🕊️

SEGA didn’t buy Rovio for Angry Birds — they bought it for mobile market experience.

It’s been almost two years since SEGA bought Rovio, and nothing meaningful has changed.
Angry Birds are fading, creativity is gone — and SEGA’s own revenue even dropped by 23%.

Maybe it’s time for SEGA to let someone else — like Supercell or Microsoft — revive Rovio.
