If you believe up is up and down is down, you might be too radically left for Mike Johnson.

In this political tinderbox of a country, it was only a matter of time before all hell broke loose. If not the killing of Kirk, it would’ve be some other disaster blame-able on the left.

But only in a figurative sense, right?

Just like Hitler blaming the Jews. Our media is failing us.

The rhetoric out of the White House isn’t helpful. Also it’s incredibly important (given the rhetoric) to remind everyone that the shooter was a white cisgender male with beliefs further to the right than his victim. We must refute the lie that the left is the party of killers.

Maybe he can blame his brain worm for that memory lapse.

The echos of Niemöller are ringing through my head. Not only is it taking away the rights of transgender folks, but it’s also declaring their identity a mental disease. We should all be alarmed.

Or a slow-mo fall down an upwards going escalator, just to prolong the moment.

..on a golf course, by lightning bolt being my preference.

Why the hell can’t somebody bribe me for once!

I think it’s wishful thinking that Trump will miraculously come to his senses and turn on his friend Putin.

I’d like to ask them if they’re done owning the libs yet. Until the policies of the Republicans they voted into office really begin to hurt, I don’t think they’ll vote differently. Even then, it’s most likely they won’t vote at all rather than vote for democrats, because “god forbid” etc.

I’m pretty sure that’s a strategy we’re witnessing: accuse your enemy of a thing, then do the thing as a response. Of course it could just be projection.

Most normal people have few defenses against con-men and grifters and other sociopaths. Still, America had barely survived with Trump the first time. How had we not learned from that? What killed me about November 2024 wasn’ that Trump won, but that so many thought he was better. We’re screwed.

One of the few groups that migrated to the Americas on their own accord were the Native Americans. They too migrated to the US, even if it was 5000 to 30000 years ago. Once they’d lived here awhile they were persecuted, but that’s another story.

I don’t think dems are supposed to be winning popularity contests in Israel. As friends of Israel, we ought to be able to point out when our friend has gone too far. At the very least, we should be able to tell Israel, if you insist on ethnically cleansing Gaza, do it on your own dime, not ours.

I’m pro- the existence of Israel. It’s been in existence for 77 years. There are plenty of countries that have existed for even shorter periods of time. 77 years is three generations. But Germany was a state when the fascists came to power, and that’s Israel’s problem now.

This is why I prefer a coup.

I’m not sure J D Vance is going to be much better. Sure, he’d be much saner, but if he’s following the Project 2025 agenda, that’s no improvement. An incompetent totalitarian is tolerable, a competent one, much more dangerous.
