heres a good place to start, trusses are the simplest to evaluate the stresses on but if u need it to be really long u could try suspension or cable-stayed

non-folding bikes have to go on the front rack of the bus, which only has 2 or 3 spots. but bike parts are just an everyday, nonhazardous item that anyone could carry for any reason. so, at what stage of disassembly does a bike cease to be a bike and become bike parts?
