I do go and lie down in the hotel room, often. Or go for a swim or a walk.
I find actual programme events (where I'm audience and can sit, sew & listen) take less social energy than general hanging out. I try to arrange to meet specific people for 1-1 meals or coffee, rather than big groups.

So much space in my brain is taken up with obsolete phone numbers and could be used for something more useful now!
The only useful number I still know is my sister's mobile, because she got a mobile before I did and never changed her number.

Britain YM also has trans Friends serving on central committees (including one of the YM clerks - me) and had quietly welcomed and incorporated trans Friends for years before the current wave of transphobia.
