A grasshopper (Caelifera) from my garden a few years ago. Could be Chorthippus brunneus or maybe Chorthippus biguttulus

Love these guys, very stylish.

Suborder: Apocrita
Could I narrow it down further? Yes, will I? No.

To catch up somewhat on my backlog of bug photos I won't spend ages trying to pinpoint the species on every image, IDing this as a cranefly will do just fine.

Diptera, Nematocera, Tipuloidea

I accidentally forgot about this account, whoops. I really hope we get drafts soon so I can prepare posts ahead of time

Another female Thomisidae but this time it's Misumena vatia, the flower crab spider.

It's impressive how big of a prey spiders can catch, this one snatched a bee that's bigger than her!

Images from 2022 of a harlequin lady beetle (Harmonia axyridis), an invasive species over here but still a pretty bug to look at.

An ant (presumed Formica sp) spotted during my walk today. Pretty cool creatures to just observe wandering about

Cylindroiulus caeruleocinctus, a millipede in the Julidae family

A bee (Anthophila), because I'm not confident enough to narrow it down further with only this image to go on

A crab spider (Thomisidae) meticulously deflating a larva as a meal

Unidentified Xysticus sp

I learned recently that orange colours or specks in some species of woodlice mean that they're likely female and that there's a pattern referred to as calico, just like with cats!

April of last year, presumed Trachelipus rathkii

Hello bugsky! I used to post my bug photos to Instagram and I felt it was about time I remade an account for it on here too, to make it more fun to share what I see and maybe make some friends.

I have plenty of old and new photos to post, always trying to ID what I can so it might be a little slow!
