Vera Songwe, @globalsolidaritylevies.org expert: Solidarity is not just a feel good word, it’s about partnership and the right economics which work for people. We need to look into levies which are progressives and look into other revenue streams.

@greenclimate.fund ED Mafalda Duarte: How are we able to raise the public funding we need to address climate change, in a reliable, just and predictable way? No one has the answer and tools, hence the need to make progress on levies, with the buy in from citizens and the right political coalitions.

We need levies now more than ever, we need polluters to pay to help vulnerable countries.

The GSLTF is gaining traction with increasing countries joining the bandwagon to champion levies.

🇧🇧 Bridgetown lead Pep Bardouille at FiCS: There are not just initiatives like Bridgetown and the GSLTF, there is real country leadership behind these. We need the right levies which work for SIDS by COP30, and we need SOLIDARITY: The end goal is massively scaling 💵 for climate and L&D.

🇧🇷 Secretary for Int. Affairs Rosito: « As we move to COP30 in Belém, we are committed in doubling down on looking at all sources of revenues and pulling all levers – and for sure, looking into taxes that can at the same time be effective, fair and deal with inequalities.”
