I agree that we should have ideally both goals and the idea with this kind of work is to identify systems that can help us find ways to improve both CO2/gr and impact on ecosystems.

The method we used in this study also helped us describe the trade-off between the provisioning and regulating ES over our range of contrasting animal production systems.

However, LCA impacts according to land occupation unit (m2yr) are inversely correlated to the supply of regulating ES. The agreement or disagreement of LCA and regulating ES assessment thus depend on the functional units used (examples below).
