At least they had the decency to publish two letters to the editor refuting this nonsense

The Alexandria Times is trying SO HARD to make a scandal out of nothing 🙄

At the risk of being labeled a bot, don't forget to vote in this week's POLL OF THE WEEK so that they can lose their shit all over again

From their tin foil hat editorial about the "bots" 🤦‍♂️

Does the Alex Times editorial board do any kind of basic fact checking for the letters to the editor before publishing? The whole Euille/Checkgate thing may be nefarious (I dunno 🤷‍♂️), but this letter alleges a violation that doesn't apply to the mayor and should be apparent from the term "legislator"

Mr. Maibach is a man who was champing at the bit to be an elector for Donald Trump in 2020. If he is correct about anything, then I assure you it is purely by virtue of coincidence. Broken clocks and all that. The author's point could have easily been made without invoking Mr. Maibach.

At this point the author seeks the wisdom of one Michael Maibach. What type of wisdom might we expect? Why the kind that actively works at "Defending the Electoral College!" Easily the worst election system ever.

I have to wonder what reality the author is living in when he writes a sentence like this. Across the country, Republicans on school boards are toiling away to ban books that even remotely touch upon LGBTQ+ topics.
February 29, 2024 at 3:06 AM
What a strange notion that Democrats, being as the author puts it - "the overwhelming Alexandria majority", should decide to elect the candidates of their choosing. Why let the OVERWHELMING MAJORITY of Alexandrians have their say when we can marginalize them with reduced voter turnout?
February 29, 2024 at 3:05 AM
Well folks, the Alexandria Times is at it again. Today's front page article is advocating for election reform because... Republicans aren't getting elected? Must be the election system and not because people actively hate their awful ideas.

Also used Solarize Virginia and am happy to have my panels up and running. Today was a good day for power generation and it's only going to get better as spring rolls in. Although the real test will come in summer when a/c demand peaks.

Wasn't much snow when I walked Rosie this morning, but more is falling now. This should please her.
