I think part of the problem is that sieges tend to be drawn out and for the most time boring. Not a good recepie for an interesting game.

I think Rebel Fury has too predictable chess like movement and too random combat. IMHO the game needs more randomness in movement and less randomness in combat.

Cannot help noticing that the names on the counters seem somewhat illogical. If Raimond de Tolouse is "Tolouse" and Godefroi de Bouillon is *Bouillon", why is Bohemond de Taranto not "Taranto"?

Well, the British deserve more of the credit for opposing the Nazis right from the start. The US didn't get aboard until 2 years later, after being attacked by Japan. And even then it was the Nazis that declared war on the US.

In the time of Clausewitz, infantry was the cheapest part of the army in terms of money and resources. Not in lives, but lives were cheaper then than today. I think the that is why infantry problem was not percieved as that much of a problem in his time.

Lee might have fought for the bad side, but IMHO his victories at 2d Bull Run and Chacellorsville stand out as masterpieces in a conflict otherwise characterised by meatgrinder battles.
