An update regarding Dot.

She was my only female, & unfortunately her wings did not dry straight.

But that didn’t stop her. For her safety, we took her in and did our best to find a place for her wings to hang.

I’m pleased to report that she was able to fly upon release!

Wish her a safe journey!

Finally, sweet Dot emerged on the 29th.

Her chrysalis was near an orb weaver nest, but due to where it hung, we couldn't move her indoors where it was safer. She survived a storm, and eclosed while I was at work. My dear husband moved her indoors when she couldn't climb to hang her wings well.

Jennie Riona was full of energy.

He wandered the most around his enclosure, molted once, and took his time leaving compared to his brothers.

I got the best photo of his j-pose compared to the others. And of his chrysalis.

Then came Lugh.

While they were all quiet, Lugh was slow, did not eat, and lethargic. He was the shortest amount of time in caterpillar form from rescue as the night after his rescue, he entered his chrysalis!

He was almost as fast as Rian, and an eager flier!

Rian was the first. He spent the most time with me as a caterpillar. Rescued at fourth instar, he was HUNGRY. If the room was quiet enough, you could hear him eat!

When he eclosed, he flew fast and strong. He seemed to love the sun and I was proud to watch him fly free!
