Financial fraud/scams are a massive wealth transfer out of the United States. Billions of dollars. I talk a lot about the emotional impact of a scam and how we must stop victim blaming for the sake of individual people, AND, this is another good reason to stop it for the good of our entire country.

Mental health colleagues: there's a crisis in our field, we are not prepared to help people who have experienced financial fraud (a scam). Sure, it is trauma and many of us have expertise and training in trauma. With this though, there is more to know - mainly to avoid unintentional victim-blaming.
