Scottish Rite prayer caps symbolize, in part, the consecration of one’s physical and spiritual attributes to humanity’s betterment. Derived from chivalric tradition and the Arming Bonnet, they remind us to align the physical with the spiritual, while upholding honor, virtue, and service to others.

Often referred to as the “university of Freemasonry,” I was conferred the 32° Master of the Royal Secret in the Southern Jurisdiction of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite in 2021. The Rite provides a wealth of avenues for further exploration and has fostered in me a commitment to scholarship.

Since being raised, I’ve served in three lodges. In my mother lodge, Jr. Steward; at college, Tyler and Chaplain; and now, in my current lodge, Jr. and Sr. Deacon. I’ve been elected Jr. Warden and look forward to further contributing to the Freemasonic stream of the Western Esoteric Tradition.

“Seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” When I first knocked on the doors of the Mysteries in 2018 and was gradually raised to the Sublime Degree of a Master Mason, I was given the tools and a system of morality with which to continue building a spiritual edifice.
