Thank you. I’ll delete my post. It’s inaccurate then. Appreciate you.

Infuriating. She is not alone and I stand with her. And they are doing ALL THIS to stop something that isn’t really an issue: non-citizens voting. I am so pissed.

Appreciate you. Appreciate the conversation. Totally agree. I’m hoping more women hear about this and take action so they are prepared.

I’m grateful I have the means, energy and ability to jump through any hoop required. Many won’t. Women have already posted in this thread they don’t have the documents needed. The legwork it will take for them to vote will be expensive and time consuming. Many will just give up.

Thank you! Love this 🫶

They will accept a passport. If you don’t already have one, you need all the same documents to get one. I’m fortunate and can pay to update mine, but for many, this will be a serious barrier. Think of all the elderly. Many may not have ANY of these documents but have voted their whole lives.
April 12, 2025 at 1:47 PM
And your ex husband can vote, no problem. Doesn’t need any of this crap. Sound fair? No
April 12, 2025 at 1:28 PM
Yup, it’s coming.
April 12, 2025 at 1:27 PM
Probably what I’m doing. My fiancee would understand. It’s just sad that issue of voting is the leading factor in whether I change my name or not.
April 12, 2025 at 1:23 PM
A drivers license will no longer be acceptable. I have voted before, but the new SAVE Act requires proof of citizenship shown when voting. Either a birth certificate and license or a passport. If the names don’t match, proof is needed.

Yup, and if they don’t like any of the documents, then they could potentially refuse me. One document is from Turks and Caicos. They may not like that at all even though it’s legal. Maybe when I marry this June, I’ll change my name back to my maiden name.

THIS!!! Never let them forget
