Great article. Fundamentally these social networks are gathering places and humanity has good systems for running those. If every bar or coffee shop was owned by one of just three companies and micromanaged by an ad driven revenue model, we’d be pretty unhappy

Think of social networks like bars or coffee shops. The way you get ones you like spending time at is by having many available owned by many individuals.

A world where all social gathering places were run by 3 companies sounds pretty dystopian.
