I’ll do what scares me… with a goal of 50.
I’ll start with what I did yesterday.

1. Asked a food truck if their food was free (at an event which promised free food)
2. Applied to a company with talented people who sightly intimate me

I feel like most foreigners in Japan share the sentiment that “I’ll never become Japanese no matter how hard I try.” What they mean is that it’s almost impossible to make to make genuine Japanese friends.

Great quote. Having goals can quickly turn into: If I have x then I’ll be happy.
It’s good to have goals, but this line of thinking is incredibly corrosive to happiness.

Just tried out Augment Code today. Not sure what model it's running under the hood (probably Claude 4) but it's pretty good!
IMO it's better than Cursor's agent mode, and only made around two blunders in an hour of testing.

LLM coding agents write hit and miss code. But there are two use cases I’ve found that are great nearly all of the time.
1. Adding print debug statements. Super low stakes.
2. Handling internationalisation stuff, like turning your English text into keys for your en.json file.

Just read Show your Work yesterday by Austin Kleon. Great book!
