I saw this on X. It isn't a big account but it has 50K views. The account thumbnail is John Wick! 🤢 And, of course, pushing the two biggest bubbles of our time: AI and crypto. Along with kindly Donald Trump watching your back. It's all so cringe...

I'm really annoyed that this has been flagged. This poster is so bad that it ran in newspapers in 1965. But okay, Bsky. Whatever!

I ran this through ChatGPT as a joke, but its condensation was on point: "We need mass deprogramming so people can read again."

I'm halfway through watching all the Hammer Dracula films. And I so wish it were over. I will do the Frankenstein films next. Dracula is fine from time to time but he gets boring. And most stories are just variations on a theme. Next up: Taste the Blood of Dracula (1970).

Behold! The brilliant software testing of Elon Musk!

I just got an old-fashioned Google info box. I really wish we could go back to those...

This is from a video on how to apply aftershave, which I thought was pretty funny. But for the record, I wish more men would use YouTube to learn the basics of life (eg, face cleaning, cooking). So I'm in favor of these videos.

Exactly right! I had to clip it out of the image...

This is not long before his amazing performance in Othello!

The featured image above didn't come through as I wanted. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 poster was a parody of The Breakfast Club poster. Here they are together:

"Four of the Apocalypse" features Michael J Pollard who is remembered for many films, including Bonnie and Clyde, Little Fauss and Big Halsy, Roxanne, and Tango & Cash. But I remember him best for the Star Trek episode "Miri" where he played a pre-pubescent boy at the age of 27!

Check out the framing here. Life-threatening injuries but *also* it was a slight problem for cars!

Archive shows that the debate was originally "1 Christian vs 20 Atheists (ft. Jordan Peterson)." It was typical Peterson, BTW. He never engaged with any of the topics and instead played word games. It has long amazed me that anyone takes him seriously about anything at all -- most of all religion.

I rather like this character but I also feel somehow offended. And not just because I wanted to be Elizabeth Bennet!

Ten years ago, I wrote a play about a dog complaining that the rise of MP3 made music sound terrible (to dogs). So I *love* this cartoon today by Scott Hilburn.

Cooking hack: Grating potatoes is the hardest thing about making potato latkes. That's why I love these "hash browns in a box" things. But you must add the hot water; I've tried it dry and it creates a mess and produces inedible latkes.

Look! @paulogia.bsky.social made the Mr Deity face! The only fun thing during this entire horrible day!

I'm not hopeful but does anyone have any clue what this is?

Because I can't paste images in DMs (for some reason)...

I think this is from The Daily Show back during Trump I

Other than irrationality, I don't see a reason that a ridiculously over-valued car company can come out with a dreadful quarterly report and see its stock just continue to go up. Traders are assuming Musk will come back soon. That has never mattered and it certainly won't now.

The Dow came back in a major way in the last hour and ended down by only 972 points (2.48%). The S&P 500 was down 2.36% and the Nasdaq was down 2.55%. Big win for Trump!

The Dow is down over 1,000 points. I can't believe how woke all those traders are!

My biggest question about the second season of Severance is if that one painting is supposed to be based on Wanderer Above the Sea of Fog. If so, the lack of fog in it is interesting in many ways.
