Sadly, too many of those people are in the leadership behind the scenes. An argument could be made they kneecapped Kamala in 2024 be cause of her not being either male or Caucasian. People who need to be retired from those leadership roles for that (and several other) reasons.

Hard to preach about unity and equality while electing the same old white men. Or even middle aged white men. Even if they mean well, the optics aren't great.
"Representation" has to be more than a catchphrase for it to mean anything.

North Carolina is the same way. It's complicated a lot of times. I deflect with music, or cars, or other common interests when I can. That seems to help.
