It probably doesn't help that I've been currently re-reading "The Plantagenets" by Dan Jones, so this history is fresh in my mind as I'm watching this.

So then does this mean the King Richard of "Robin and Marian" then has been King for twenty years? And in all this time as well so far it's implied that neither he nor Robin nor Little John had once returned to England.
Yeah. Like I said, the history in this film is...odd.

But then Robin says he's served King Richard for twenty years, so...since 1179, a decade *before* Richard was King? Which is interesting, but then Richard says he met Robin in Sherwood (naturally) while looking for men to serve him in the Crusade...which...hang on...
