1/2 Not "revolutionary"? Only a group of bought-and-paid-for, bat-blind Quislings like current WaPo Ed Bd could write this. Over 20 yrs Roberts court has "revolutionized" American law by elevating an "originalism" that is a flimsy cover for Christian nationalism & executive autocracy (so long...

A guess: faction that tacks back to more traditional conservatism; faction that tries to meld social conservatism w/ economic populism aimed at wrking class (Hawley/MTG); & gaggle of crazies (Trump Jr) & pure opportunists (Vance/ Rubio) trying replicate Trump. I don't think Trump is replicable so...

A baking show doesn't have too many moments that offer the heady prospect of cataclysmic total disaster. The Showstopper walk provides one.

The "because I feel like it" part grates a bit, particularly when you've just published Atlantic piece admonishing MAGA bad guys to model adult behavior.
I understand impulse. Yielded to it some in early Trump years. Then realized that, for me, it was counterproductive. But you have yr own style.

This is very good piece. But curiously at odds with recent trend of your own online tone.
You certainly haven't descended to MAGA's dismal depths, but admonishment that others should behave like sober adults fits ill with endless online snark.
I'm puzzled you don't see the disjunction.

Per Martin's email, "bad actors exploited President Biden’s infirmary to secure their own agenda"
An "infirmary" is a hospital or clinic.
When accusing others of incompetence or malfeasance, at least use spellcheck, or perhaps a dictionary if you don't know the meaning of common English words.

Sorry, but I didn't write it down. Something like "former Trump appointees describe him as ignorant uninformed stupid".
If you play around with variations of this, I'd be interested hear what you find. My experience could have been an anomaly.

2/2 listing criticisms of Trump's ignorance of public affairs by his own ex-appointees. Google produced only 1. Which is nuts.
Ran same search on Bing & found, as expected, cornucopia of such stories.
One search is too small a sample from which to draw conclusions, but someone shld research this.

Tom: Why do you recently seem to feel obliged to respond (all too often with catty condescension) to every critical comment? You've earned an important voice by writing cogently about difficult public topics. Why not stick to that & leave the petty gibes to those who can do no better?
