Hope that everyone celebrating today had a very Merry Christmas. Thanks for the support over the year...Pittsburgh is truly a special city and I'm so blessed to be able to share it with so many of you!

I’ve shot #pittsburgh from this spot during full moons and fireworks, but never at sunrise. I’m thinking that this view would make a great four seasons set, and luckily the springtime one is out of the way. Love how the steps lead right through the scene.

A black and gold scene from over weekend in #Pittsburgh just as the sun came out after a cloudy morning. The snow covered rivers were crazy to see, almost like there wasn’t a river there at all.

Though it wasn’t as crazy as the sunrise over the weekend, sunrise in #Pittsburgh this morning was surprisingly vibrant. Capturing skies like this reflecting in the frozen rivers is one of my favorite things about winter.

Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. It did not start from gas chambers.

This hatred was gradually developed by humans. From ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.

Auschwitz took time.

A grim but essential memory: 80 years ago today Auschwitz was liberated. That there was an Auschwitz to liberate is unspeakably tragic. . .

A beautiful sunrise from a few days ago on the Duquesne Incline in #Pittsburgh, with the Allegheny and most of the Monongahela River covered in snow and ice. One of the more unique winter images I’ve shot this year, as both rivers rarely look like this at the same time.

I tried to write a particularly gentle, slow, quiet broadcast this week full of wonder and appreciation for simple joys, hoping to provide a few moments of peaceful calm. ❤️

Something a little different today. Over the weekend we took a little trip to northwestern Ohio and one of the stops I made was Marblehead Lighthouse. There was some heavy snow the night before and it turned the entire park into a painting.

Jimmy Carter's funeral today was deeply moving, a ceremony befitting a man of such sterling character.

How do you think future presidential funerals will compare?

A couple views from the Duquesne Incline in #Pittsburgh yesterday morning as the heaviest of the snow was moving through the city. The second image looks like a scene straight out of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood.
