I was a great learner but a lousy student. You get lousy grades when you ace every test but never turn an assignment in.
Working hard didn’t get me good grades or rewards. Neither did being an exceptional learner.
Both did me favors in non/school life though.

Honestly, being really quick at test taking helped my grades on the whole… because that free time while the others finished tended to be used redoing the homework for other classes that my undiagnosed ADHD had either forgotten to do or forgotten to bring to school… so something got turned in. 🤷🏽‍♀️
