It is important that Daryl Morey keeps his job because easy mode for a new GM would be to come in and trade Maxey for picks to start a rebuild (see Danny Ainge in Utah). I would never recover.

The top of this draft class is starting exceptionally well, you’re probably happy if your team has Flagg, Harper, VJ, Kon, Fears, Queen, or Coward, and even Ace is showing some good signs. This is bad for me, since I’m rooting for everyone but VJ to fail.

The Sixers are 17.7 points/100 possessions better with Tyrese Maxey on the court than off. For reference, the highest this number has ever been for Joel Embiid is 12.7. I can see why Nurse is reluctant to rest Maxey!

The Sixers are 26th in pace, 24th in points off turnovers, 26th in steals, and 21st in deflections. I think ideally a Nurse-coached Maxey-VJ team would be much better in these categories.
