Right, there was a structural problem in that radio station owners were overwhelmingly right-wing and that was why there were so many wingnut shows on the air. Air America shows were downgraded to fringe air slots no matter how good the ratings were.

Sadly, all we can do is watch what they do for now, but be prepared to throw sand in their gears when an opportunity presents itself.

Every newspaper has at least two columnists who deal with letters from readers who are in fact trying to deal with the fallout from being exasperated, inconvenienced and bullied by people who probably aren't even one-tenth as terrible as the creeps and thugs mentioned above.

Now I may be overlooking a constituency of people who seek out the worst possible companions to spend their time with, but I doubt it.

And imagine your local churches and non-profits; if they asked you to recommend someone to put in a position of responsibility, would your choice be in the neighborhood of being this bad?

If you went to work one day and found that any of these people had become your direct report supervisor, by lunchtime you'd have figured out which car in the lot was theirs and keyed their doors and flattened their tires.

You'd never let RFKjr housesit or babysit for you. If you spent 10 minutes discussing legal issues with Pam Bondi, you'd spend the rest of your day Googling the professional conduct page of your local bar association.

If you had a 12-year-old who exhibited the habitual lying and toxic narcissism of Felonious Punk or Apartheid Clyde, you'd send them to school on a short bus while strapped to an IV of Ritalin. If every time you went to the American Legion you had to deal with Pete Hegseth, you'd never go there.

If they were members of your family, you'd schedule an intervention.

I'm talking about people who, if you encountered them in a bar or restaurant, you'd leave rather than deal with them. If they were waiting on you in a department store, you'd throw your purchases on the nearest counter and run to that store's biggest competitor.

These are literally the worst human beings on four wheels. The most imaginative writers of dystopian fiction we have in this world couldn't conjure up a whole cast of people this terrible, this self-interested, this bigoted, this corrupt, because they'd be afraid readers wouldn't believe they exist.

It would be wrong to do this in real life, but it would be understandable.

What do you expect? There were 1,000 people in the room and not a single one of them was talking about him.

So read the first post, remember where it came from, and laugh.

The NY Times attracts a lot of complaints simply because of who they are -- a huge operation read by millions. Imagine if the Ford Motor Co. put out a press release saying people shouldn't complain about their shitty, 4x-recalled vehicles because it hurts their feelings. Laughter would ensue.

And as for the march of Nazi-curious subhumans trying to drown out everyone else's decency and freedom, yeah, they're going to get screamed at, in lieu of clamping them in stocks and throwing overripe vegetables at them, since that apparently isn't a thing anymore.
