What the snake has brought is undulating, crushing and frightening, but the snake also brings transformation, although as things move out of our control I suspect the new order is far far away.

‘Our Lady of the Milkweed’. When I was a child milkweed plants and Monarch butterflies were everywhere. The patriarchy is out of control now. Resist - however you can. This assemblage with its milkweed pod set inside a nest honours Mother Earth.

I look for art that is signalling the unraveling of order. I’m not finding much. But I do get a sense of a malignant presence in AI art. Frightening.

Here’s a tiny amulet i made. It’s lovely with its bit of wolf fur from my old Yukon Parka. It is called ‘Wolf Spirit’ made from a milkweed pod, acorn cap, fur, fabric and a cabochon. Brings wearer wisdom of the wolf. Which we Canadians can use right now. Maybe I’ll mail it to Ottawa.
